This Privacy Policy explains how TIPCo — The Italian Property Company (“TIPCo”, “we”, “us”) collects and uses your personal data when you use this website or contact us. We process personal data in accordance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (the “GDPR”) and the Italian Data Protection Code (Legislative Decree 196/2003, as amended). Where we handle the data of visitors from outside the EU/EEA, we apply the same standards of protection.

Who is responsible for your data

TIPCo is the data controller. Until the company is formally incorporated, TIPCo is operated by its founder, who acts as controller. You can contact us about data protection at info@tipco.it, or by post at Corso Umberto I n. 50, Castronovo di Sicilia (PA), Sicily, Italy.

What we collect

Details you give us through our forms — your name, email address, telephone number, and the content of your enquiry, viewing or valuation request (which may include your country of residence, preferred locations, budget and property details).
Newsletter sign-ups — your email address and the fact and date of your consent.
Records of our correspondence with you.
Where legally required, identity and source-of-funds information for anti-money-laundering checks.
Technical and usage data via cookies (see our Cookie Policy). We do not currently use analytics or marketing cookies; if we introduce them, they will only operate with your consent.

We do not intentionally collect special categories of data (such as health data). Please do not send us such information through the website.

Why we use your data

To respond to your enquiry and arrange viewings or valuations — on the basis of steps taken at your request and your consent to the message you send.
To provide our consultancy services and coordinate trusted partners — on the basis of our contract with you.
To send newsletters and property updates — on the basis of your consent, which you can withdraw at any time.
To keep records, secure the website and prevent abuse — on the basis of our legitimate interests.
To meet anti-money-laundering and other legal obligations — where the law requires it.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal data. We share it only where necessary: with our trusted partners — independent, appropriately qualified professionals (such as lawyers, notaries, surveyors, architects and accountants) — where needed to progress your request; with service providers who process data on our instructions under a data-processing agreement (such as our website host and email provider); and with authorities where we are legally required to do so. We aim to keep data within the EU/EEA, and apply appropriate safeguards for any transfer outside it.

How long we keep it

We keep your data only for as long as necessary. Enquiries that do not proceed are automatically deleted after 24 months. Records relating to a completed transaction — including those we must keep for tax and anti-money-laundering purposes — are retained for 10 years, as required by Italian law. Newsletter data is kept until you unsubscribe.

Your rights

You have the right to access your data; to have it corrected or erased; to restrict or object to processing; to data portability; and, where processing is based on consent, to withdraw that consent at any time. To exercise any right, email info@tipco.it. If you believe we have not handled your data properly, you can complain to the Italian supervisory authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, or to the authority in your country of residence.

Security and changes

This website is served over a secure connection and enquiry submissions are stored securely with access limited to authorised persons. No online service is ever completely secure, but we take appropriate measures to protect your data. We may update this policy from time to time; the current version will always be available here.
